Crowding or gapped teeth
When teeth are too close together or too far apart, it can affect everything from confidence to proper brushing. Crowding makes it harder to clean between teeth, increasing the risk of cavities, while gaps may affect bite function and speech development.
Narrow arch
A narrow dental arch can limit space for adult teeth to grow in properly, often leading to crowding or impacted teeth. Expanding the arch early can create room for healthy development and a more balanced facial structure.
Overbite or deep bite
When the top front teeth significantly overlap the bottom teeth, it can wear down teeth, strain the jaw, and even affect speech. Treating a deep bite helps improve function and protect your child’s long-term dental health.
Excessive overjet
Sometimes called “buck teeth,” an overjet causes the upper front teeth to stick out far past the lower teeth. This can increase the risk of injury and affect chewing and speaking. Early treatment often delivers the best outcomes.
Edge-to-edge and underbites
This occurs when the upper and lower front teeth meet directly, placing excessive pressure on the teeth and increasing wear. Addressing an edge-to-edge bite can prevent enamel damage and help preserve tooth health.
Open bite
An open bite means the top and bottom teeth don’t touch when the mouth is closed. It can affect chewing, speaking, and jaw development - and is often linked to thumb-sucking or tongue-thrusting habits.
